Hey everyone! 🌟 We're absolutely thrilled to share TWO exciting announcements with you today!
First, the Kanto region will be launching TOMORROW, August 13th between 8-9PM BST!
But that's not all. We're also proud to unveil something we've been quietly working on for the past few months: our new accessibility initiative. While many of you know the Kanto release had been delayed for artwork, we've actually been using this time to work on something incredibly important to us — making the game more enjoyable and comfortable for all players, including those with visual, motor, cognitive, and reading-related difficulties.
Launching Tomorrow: Accessibility Features
We're excited to announce that the Kanto release will include several accessibility improvements we've been implementing over the past year:
Color Modes (Visual Accessibility)- Deuteranopia filter (red-green colorblindness)
- Protanopia filter (red-green colorblindness)
- Tritanopia filter (blue-yellow colorblindness)
- High-contrast mode with darker backgrounds and bright icons for better visibility
- Low-contrast mode for players sensitive to bright colors or high contrast
- Reduced clutter and better highlighting of key information
- Visual indicators (like chat badges) to alert players of new or missed content
- Makes it easier to track important information whether you're multitasking, playing in different lighting conditions, or just want a cleaner interface
- Support for newer fonts and sizes in chat that improve readability
- Helpful for extended play sessions and reducing eye strain

This Is Just The Beginning
These features launching with Kanto are the first steps in our broader accessibility journey. We're working on additional features like zoom options, dyslexia-friendly fonts, key remapping, simplified tutorials, goal tracking, and more. These will be gradually rolled out over time as we continue to develop and refine them.
Our goal is simple: making sure no one feels left out and ensuring that future content can be experienced with fewer barriers. We're designing these features with flexibility in mind so everyone can customize their experience in a way that works best for them.
Thank you all for your continued support, feedback, and encouragement. Your passion is what motivates us to keep improving every corner of the game — and this time, we're making sure every player can enjoy it more comfortably.
We can't wait to see you exploring Kanto tomorrow!
Stay awesome,
Snakes
