We’re excited to announce the latest PvP Tier Shift update that will take effect on the 1st of June. This announcement will be done in two parts, one by me and one by Kupo, Whether you're grinding the ladder or building your next team, here’s what you need to know:
Staying in OU!
Greninja (Protean)
The votes are in, and the stats are clear Greninja remains a top-tier threat and will stay in the OU tier, with its unmatched versatility, Protean mind games, and good speed tier, with also lack of good walls it would be too much for the tier.,
Kommo-o
After much discussion and data analysis, Kommo-o will remain in the OU, with access to its signature move Clangorous Soul and Belly Drum it would easily sweep the current meta with ease. Forcing people do deal with it in an unhealthy way.
Dropping from OU to UU
Mew
Despite its endless movepool, setup potential and hazard lead, Mew’s usage in OU is non-existent so that opens the door for it to UU which it might be better suited for.,
Excadrill
With Buzzwole and possibly Celesteela entering the tier, Excadrill could be a powerful and versatile addition to UU. While some may argue that Excadrill primarily supports Sand teams, the real standout in this tier would be Mold Breaker especially effective on Suicide Lead or standard Swords Dance sets. Its flexibility allows it to function as a wallbreaker, cleaner, or utility lead, depending on how it’s supported.,
Light Clay has been unbanned in the UU tier!
* This item, which extends the duration of Aurora Veil, Reflect, and Light Screen, was previously banned due to its synergy with screens-based hyper offense. However, the current meta and power balance have evolved, and the PVP Council has voted in favor of giving it a chance (Suspect test)
